Asia and Pacific Region

Introduction

In line with the achievements gained in the European and American markets, Haier has made significant progress in the nations of Southeast Asia. In April, 2001, ground was broken for Haier (Pakistan), Haier's second industrial complex. On May 6, 2002, the plant was put into operation for washing machines, symbolizing the success of Haier's globalization policy to exploit the market in developed countries before developing countries. As a result of less developed economy in Southeast Asia, worldwide name home appliances were short of supply, and many world players compete in this area.

Obviously, without such success in Europe and America, Haier would not be able to root in the markets of Southeast Asia.

Besides a trading company in Singapore, Haier currently has set up plants in Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Viet Nam.

During the financial crisis of Southeast Asia, Haier advertised in many countries of Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and Philippines, to enhance the reputation of Haier brand.
