On April 3rd, 2004, dozens of young Haier people from Haier Electric Appliances and Haier Washing Machine took part in the construction of Green Olympics Youth Forest jointly organized by Qingdao League Committee, Qingdao Forestry Administration and Qingdao Volunteers Association with a wish to "become a volunteer of the Green Olympics and get prepared for the Green Olympics".
On March 12th, 2005, the Arbor Day of China, the League committee of Haier Group organized the Youth Volunteer Planting to answer the call of Qingdao League Committee building a Green Olympic Forest. At 8:15 am, a brief launch ceremony was held in the square of City Hall in spite of the harsh weather of -6°C. More than two hundreds of League members from all across the city attended the ceremony. The voluntary planting participants were highly appraised by leaders of Qingdao League Committee.
Through December 5-7, 1995, Haier as the only representative from Asia was invited to the 7th meeting of the parties to Montreal Protocol on Ozone Depleting Substances held by UNEP in Vienna, Austria. Haier displayed its latest achievement - energy-saving and pollution-free BCD-268 refrigerator. The product was highly appraised by UNEP, Montreal Funds, European Green Groups, World Bank and government officials present.
After his visit of Haier booth, Director Peter from BMZ Germany commented that "another Haier in the world, greater safety for the earth".
