An article was published on USA Today January 2 introducing Haier's achievements and globalization strategy implementation and Haier's role in influence on Chinese domestic enterprise business development.

Mr. Zhang Ruimin was elected alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee in November, 2002. With the political success, Mr. Zhang Ruimin has started a far-reaching business program to develop Haier China's first trademark recognized by the globe.
GE, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota are world players. However in China, economy grows fast over the past years but there is no competent competitor recognized in the world community.
There is no doubt that Haier, having 13 overseas factories (including a refrigerator factory in South Carolina, Italy and Pakistan and an assembly line in Iran), is the most competitive Chinese company to become a world player.
Haier's success will inevitably result in more intense domestic competition. Challenging of home large and powerful competitors will be a test of the capability of Mr. Zhang Ruimin and Haier management.
