    In July, 2003, one of American top 5 chain stores, placed Haier first of white goods suppliers upon a survey results in 4 aspects of product quality, after-sales service, sales volume and delivery efficiency.
    
    The 4 items of supplier survey program carried out by Target were the questions answered by Haier production process restructuring. The survey results indicate that Haier¡¯s achievements in production process restructuring conducted over the past 5 years have greatly improved Haier¡¯s competitiveness in the world market.
    
    
    Currently, Haier products are distributed by nine of the top 10 chain stores in the United States. Since a plant was established in South Carolina in 1999 to utilize local design, manufacture and marketing sources, Haier American has seen significant business growth. Haier 2004 revenue hit USD250 million and in this year so far, Haier has seen a two-digit increase.
    
    
    In addition to sales increase, Haier pays more attention to brand building in foreign countries. Haier has established a design center in Los Angeles, a marketing center in New York and manufacture plant in South Carolina with an aim to utilization of local human resources and satisfaction of the needs of local consumers. An example is M-freezer of top load and bottom drawer, compact refrigerator with a computer desktop and free-standing wine cooler which are hailed by the people from all walks of society. He believes that it is possible for Haier to become one of top 3 home appliance brands in the United States if proper marketing policy is carried out as some American whitegoods companies encounter a depression situation.
