Haier QETDZ International Industrial Park
The construction of the 500-mu Haier QETDZ International Industrial Park began in the Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone in June 2000, with a planned investment of RMB 1 billion. It will provide components and parts for Haier appliances makers through introduction of international suppliers who may take part in the pre-stage design and development. In this way, product innovation will be emphasized, speedier development of Haier products can be ensured and product competitiveness will be strengthened.
Haier QETDZ International Industrial Park is an important R&D and manufacturing base for appliance components and parts of Haier Group. It will mainly produce advanced inverter motors, precision plastic metal fixttings, packaging materials to meet the group's development and production needs for intelligent household appliances and IT products. At present, five projects have settled down in the park. They are Haier Weicheng plastic project, Hongji precision copper pipe project for annual production of 1 million copper pipe fittings, Haier Baihui precision plastic metal fittings project for annual production of 5 million precision plastic metal fittings, Sanyo inverter motor project for annual production of 300 inverter motors, Haier Fengcai packaging project for annual production of 24 million M2 of paper boxes. By the end of 2001, the total injection into the Haier (Jiaozhou) International Industrial Park had been RMB 350 million.
Enterprises in the park may join Haier in the preliminary product development. As there will be great market opportunities for the international suppliers, many international suppliers wish to cooperate with Haier. This will benefit both the international suppliers and Haier Group, improve the product quality of the suppliers and optimize Haier's supplier structure. Therefore, "zero-distance" supply of high-tech parts will be realized.
Simultaneous R&D of the suppliers' products, simultaneous technical progress and simultaneous product supply with the rest of the world will come true in the Haier QETDZ International Industrial Park.
