Haier (Jiaozhou) International Industrial Park

Located in the Jiaozhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, the 1,000-mu Haier (Jiaozhou) International Industrial Park began construction in July 2000, with a total investment of RMB 1 billion. It will be an important R&D and production base of appliance parts and components of Haier Group. It will mainly produce precision injection moldings, information household appliance fuzzy control systems, inverter controllers, household appliance motors, electronic components and new types of engineering plastics and so on.

Projects settled in the park include:

-Phase I & II Haier Jinhua Plastics Limited Technical Renovation Project: To have annual production of 15 million sets of plastic parts.
-Haier Century (Qingdao) Precision Product Co., Ltd and Hong Kong Ocean Precision Engineering Limited Joint Venture Project: To produce precision molds and metal products, with an annual production of 3.9 million sets.
-Emerson Motor Project: To cooperate with the US Emerson Company to produce high-quality motors for Haier Group, with an annual production of 3 million sets.
-Haier New Material Base Project: To conduct R&D, production, sales and technical transfer of engineering plastics, special plastics, nanometer materials, biological materials, electronic materials and other related products, and provide technical services.
-Haiyongli Digital Network Co., Ltd: To cooperate with Australia Asia-Pacific International Group to produce home computer control boards, with an annual production of 10 million pieces.
-Qingdao Yixing Plastic Raw Materials Co., Ltd: To cooperate with Hong Kong Yixing Plastic Raw Materials Co., Ltd to produce 2,100 tons of engineering plastics and dye master batch.
-Hairun Electronic Co., Ltd: To cooperate with Hong Kong Derun Co to produce and manage household electronic plugging devices, power cables and so on, with an annual production of 10 million sets of electronic plugging devices and 10 million sets of power cables.
-Qingdao Haifu Plastic Products Co., Ltd: To cooperate with Thailand's Lulaifudeng Co to produce plastic parts, with an annual production of 6,000 tons of plastic parts.

By the end of 2001, the total investment in Haier (Jiaozhou) Industrial Park had been RMB 480 million. The sales revenue in the first year of operation will be RMB 400 million. After all projects going to operation, the total investment will be USD 80 million, and the sales revenue will be USD 10 billion.

Under great support of the local government, unified plan and management are provided in the park, where water, electricity and gas facilities are complete. The park has pushed the local economic development, offered more employment opportunities for the local citizens as well as gained Haier more prestige. In some sense, it embodies Haier's management concept - "to pay back the society heart and soul".
