Haier entered the ASEAN market in October, 1999. The company now has industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, and trading companies throughout the ASEAN region and Haier products are sold in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.
- In April 2007, Haier purchased the Thailand Refrigerator Factory from Sanyo, making Haier the second largest producer of refrigerators in Thailand. Haier has plans to become the top manufacturer of refrigerators in the Thai market by 2010. Haier's production facilities in Thailand not only meet the demands of the Thai market but are also sold throughout the ASEAN countries, the Pacific Rim, and even Australia.
