On December 26th, 2003, ten pulsator washers were donated to Zhengzhou University by Haier (Zhengzhou) Trading Company to set up a Haier Love Laundry. The university would make this laundry a job opportunity for poor students looking for part-time jobs during their spare time to get financial support for their study and living in the university. The story of a socially responsible Haier received considerable acknowledgement from local and was reported by tens of media including Henan Television Station, Dahe Newspaper, etc.

On May 30th, 2005, Haier Group presented its inverter refrigerators with the spacemen team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army at Beijing Spacemen Training Center. These refrigerators are a gift to spacemen preparing for the manned spacecraft Shenzhou-6's launch, including Yang Liwei, the hero of Shenzhou-5's flight.

On May 22nd, 2005, Abdullah II Bin Hussein asked his personal secretary to send a letter of thanks to CEO Zhang of Haier Group conveying his gratitude to Zhang's gift, a 42-inch plasma television and his heartfelt respect and best wishes to Haier's success. In March 2005, a 42-inch plasma television was presented by CEO Zhang Ruimin of Haier Group as a national gift to King Abdullah II Bin Hussein of Jordan. Its excellent picture quality and "black art" appearance were loved very much by the royal family of Jordan.

The result of Love in China - Inaugural Most Influential Charity Figures of China initiated by China Charity Federation and organized by the organizing committee of China Charity Awareness Year was published on January 31st, 2005 in Beijing. CEO Zhang Ruimin of Haier Group was among these one hundred charity figures elected. Since its start, Haier Group has been continuously contributed to public welfare like the sea whilst maintained a fast growth. Statistics show that Haier Group has donated RMB 250 million to social education, disaster relief and help-the-poor programs. On September 6th, 2002, United Way International, a worldwide charity organization, presented two awards to CEO Zhang Ruimin of Haier Group, i.e. Global Business Leader Award and Best Donor Award. In January 2004, CYDF presented Haier the prize of Special Contribution to Project Hope and Haier was the only winner of this prize among domestic enterprises.

The Walk into West group of China Children & Teenagers (Haier) Science & Technology Award 2004' arrived at Shanxi and Gansu smoothly. The expert team formed by CNIER research fellow, Zhao Xuesu, associate research fellow, Wang Su, senior teacher from Xicheng District Juvenile Science Museum of Beijing, Zhou Youhong, etc. arrived with the group. Through research, training and exchange for a week in the form of forums, lectures and theme class meetings with the committees of young pioneers of the two provinces and representatives from local schools, introducing the procedures of participating in Haier Science & Technology Award and how to learn science, use what've learned and cultivate the interest in science. The outcomes of the tour would lay solid foundations for popularization of science and education in west areas.

On April 22nd, 2004, China Children & Teenagers (Haier) Science & Technology Award 2004' co-organized by National Committee of Young Pioneers and Haier Group was unveiled in Beijing. China Children & Teenagers (Haier) Science & Technology Award is a nationwide comprehensive science event. Initiated by National Committee of Young Pioneers, sponsored by Haier Group and supported by many other institutes, China Children & Teenagers (Haier) Science & Technology Award 2004' was a great success and extensively recognized, not only by children and teenagers all across the country but by professionals from the realm of education and science.

On November 28th, 2003, 9:18 am, Haier Aerospace Show commenced at Qingdao International Convention & Exhibition Center. Vice general director of China's manned spaceflight, Lieutenant General Shen Rongjun, Qingdao Vice Mayor, Wang Xiulin and President of Haier Group Yang Mianmian cut the ribbon at the opening of the exhibition. Yang Mianmian further gave a speech about Haier's connection with spaceflight and contribution to China's brilliant achievement in this field. "We are going to motivate ourselves with the spirit of Chinese spacemen and secure the success with self-improvement, hardworking and innovation.
The exhibition lasted three days in Qingdao and ended on November 30th. Then it would go on a tour of cities, including Jinan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing, etc.
