The innovative AFD-631G fridge-freezer has picked up an award
for its user-friendliness
Paris, France, 19 October, 2010 – The 3D Fridge range from Haier, the world’s No. 1 white goods brand (source: Euromonitor), has added yet another award to its collection: the AFD-631G combined fridge-freezer, with its innovative 3D system and high-quality glass fronting, was granted the “IFA Usability Park 2010 Audience Choice Award” by IFA attendees. For the third time running, the International Design Center Berlin (Internationale Design Zentrum Berlin, IDZ) organised the special “Usability Park” design exhibition as part of the IFA trade show in Berlin, where user-friendly products are presented to the IFA public, who then vote for the award winners.
The products presented were subjected to rigorous examinations before the visitors voted for their personal favourites. And the result left no doubts – its intuitive and exemplary functionalities make the AFD-631G 3D combined fridge-freezer a premium product. In addition, the IFA audience was won over by its outstanding design and glass front.
Convenient equipment with perfect functionality
Below the refrigerator section, the AFD-631G features two spacious 3D freezer drawers on smooth-running telescopic rails that can be pulled out easily and a long way. This allows optimum use of the entire storage space. A fold-away bottle rack in the refrigerator enables safe storage of bottles and creates extra space when not in use.
Separate, user-friendly drawers ensure that significantly less cold goes to waste. Furthermore, the energy efficiency class A+ means an extra 25 per cent saving on energy compared to class A.
The fridge-freezer also contains a fresh food compartment which, at a temperature range of -2° to +3° Celsius, keeps perishable foods like meat and fish fresh for longer. Variable humidity in the additional vegetable cooler keeps fruits, salads and vegetables crisp and fresh for longer.
Modern LED light columns guarantee that the interior is uniformly illuminated.
Thanks to the touch control, a combination of a liquid crystal display and touch-sensitive control panels behind the glass front, the electronic controls of the AFD-631G can be set easily and conveniently.
The NoFrost system ensures that ice does not build up inside, thereby saving the user from having to regularly de-frost the freezer compartment. The refrigerator door is made of safety glass, combining an attractive look with robust quality, and is much easier to clean than stainless steel.
The Haier combined fridge-freezer with glass door – in red (AFD-631GR), black (AFD-631GB) or white (AFD-631GW) – is due to be released in the UK from 2011 onwards.
