Haier MyZone receives Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Gold Award for Innovation in Functionality

Haier, the world’s number one Major Appliances brand (source: Euromonitor International Limited; retail volume sales in units based on 2011 data), was awarded yesterday with the prestigious Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Gold Award for Innovation in Functionality for its MyZone fridge.

The Haier MyZone features an independent middle compartment, which gives users complete temperature control, allowing the “MyZone” to act as either a separate fridge or freezer drawer. The MyZone lets consumers to switch from one temperature to another according to eating, cooking and shopping habits within a range of +5°C to -18°C (the same temperature as a freezer compartment, where you can keep food frozen for up to one year).

James Osborne, White Goods Product Manager at Haier UK & Ireland, said: “It’s easy for a brand to say that innovation is important, but it’s only really seen when the products receive recognition from the public and press. The MyZone is an example of what we care about: breaking new ground in white goods and design and technology. We’re delighted to accept the Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Gold Award for Innovation in Functionality.”

The Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards is an annual competition from the publishers of Designer Kitchen & Bathroom magazine. 

The awards recognise excellence in residential design projects. The Awards are committed to celebrating and promoting innovation in kitchen and bathroom design and are dedicated to improving standards across the industry.
