Question: Storage type electric water heater leakage, how to repair? 

When such a failure occurs, the following 6 parts should be checked:

(1) The safety pressure relief valve leaks

Check the leakage of the safety pressure relief valve: if the safety pressure relief valve has a small amount of water discharge is normal; If the pressure relief port is dripping or draining a large amount of water under normal circumstances, there is debris blockage or spring damage in the pressure relief valve core, which should be cleaned or replaced; If the tap water pressure exceeds 0.6MPa and causes water leakage, then install a pressure reducing valve at the tap water inlet valve; If the pressure relief valve fails and the wrench leaks, the safety pressure relief valve should be replaced; If the pressure relief valve joint bursts and leaks, the safety pressure relief valve should also be replaced.

(2) Water leakage in the connecting pipe

Check the water leakage of the water pipe: water leakage of the hot and cold inlet and outlet pipes and connecting pipes, repair or replace the connection fittings.

(3) Water mixing valve leakage

Inspection of water leakage of water mixing valve: If the pipe leaks, it should be replaced with a new one; If the valve leaks, repair or replace it with a new one.

(4) The sealing ring is leaking

Inspection of leakage of sealing ring: aging of heating tube sealing ring or pipeline sealing ring and too much installation force lead to crushing and deformation, replace the new matching sealing ring.

(5) Heat pipe seat leakage

Check the leakage of the heating pipe seat: the temperature probe tube on the heating pipe burst and perforated or the tube seat was badly welded, and replace the new heating pipe with the same specification.

(6) Inner tank water leakage

Check the inner tank water leakage: flange mouth heat pipe gland installation is not balanced, adjust the nut installed flat heat pipe gland; Water leakage at the hook, rust water leakage at the fixed cap edge of the inlet and outlet pipe and sewage pipe, rust water leakage at the joint of the shell and the end cap at both ends of the electric water heater, water leakage at the welding of the flange and the inner tank, rust water leakage at the control/display panel of the shell and the water temperature meter and the hanging ear, replace the inner tank.

When there is a water heater leak, the site should be identified first. If the inner tank leaks, remember that it is best not to use, in case of leakage and injury.
