2013-02-06 12:00:00

Haier, the world’s number one Major Appliances brand (source: Euromonitor International Limited; retail volume sales in units based on 2012 data*), announced this week a strategic partnership with Big Red Sales to target the important independents market.

Jeff Moody, Sales and Marketing Director for Haier UK and Ireland, commented: “Independent retailers are extremely important in Haier’s growth strategy in the UK, as they offer a unique customer experience providing specialist knowledge and a chance to see and feel the products displayed on the shop floor. Given Big Red Sales’ proven track record with independents, the company is a natural fit for Haier as the brand seeks to build momentum in the UK market.”

Mr Moody said: “The move will open up another channel for Haier’s existing and new product ranges. There are over 1,200 independents in the UK and by appointing Big Red Sales Haier will be well placed to reach out and speak to them on a one-to-one basis.”

He continued: “Big Red’s experience and knowledge will also allow Haier to launch its new technology and warranty packages, something that we know the independents are uniquely positioned to sell on effectively.”

“We believe that shop floor display is key to enabling customers to fully understand the technology and benefits behind Haier’s feature-packed products. We are confident that the excellent contacts that Big Red Sales has in the independent sector will successfully deliver an improved in-store presence for our brand,” he concluded.

Commenting on the partnership Big Red Sales Director Nick Alsbury said: “We are delighted that Haier has chosen Big Red to handle sales to independents not least because they have a reputation for putting quality, design and innovation at the heart of their products.”

“It is a great fit with our other brands and our sales force, one of the largest in the field; we are really looking forward to promoting Haier and its quality products to our rapidly expanding customer base.”
