09-13 2011

Surrey, UK, 18th August, 2011 – Haier’s 3D Fridge now a Which? Best Buy - A superb blend of form and function is recognised by yet another award

Haier, the world’s number one Major Appliances brand (source: Euromonitor International Limited; retail volume sales in units based on 2010 data), is pleased to announce that Which? has awarded the AFL631CS (silver) and the AFL631CW (white) 3D Fridge ‘Best Buy’ status, having achieved a score of 79% in recent tests.

Independent testing by experts

Which? is Europe’s largest consumer rights organisation and each year it puts thousands of products through rigorous testing as it seeks to give consumers the very best advice available.

James Osborne, White Goods Product Manager for the UK and Ireland is extremely pleased that Haier’s 3D fridge has been recognised by such an important and influential body: “Which?’s impartiality is understood and respected by both the trade and consumers and we are delighted that Which? have awarded the AFL631CW and AFL631CS with a Best Buy recommendation. Haier’s brand values are quality, innovation and design and this endorsement starts to prove we are serious about delivering our values and for the long term.”

A consensus of opinion

Haier, the first company to bring this style of fridge to the European market, have already won several awards for this product including the Plus X Award, the Red Dot Design Award 2008, as well as Get Connected’s Product of the Year 2011 in the ‘Best Design’ category. The addition of this new and prestigious decoration goes to show that Haier’s products are not only design led, but also functional and well adapted to the needs of the modern British consumer.

Packed full of innovative features

Consumers will be initially attracted by this model by the clever design of the drawers which make it easier to store and locate frozen food. However, this fridge freezer is well thought through and includes many other useful features such as a foldable wine rack, a humidity control salad crisper as well as a 'fresh control' chiller compartment for storing meat, fish or ready meals.

Energy, time and temperature efficient

Today’s time pushed consumers will appreciate just how quick to chill this fridge is. Which? found that on the super cool setting: “The fridge took just over four hours to chill our fresh shopping to the recommended safe temperature, making the AFL631CW one of the quickest fridges we've seen - a major reason why we rated it as a Best Buy.”

The eco-conscious will be reassured by the fridge freezer’s A+ energy rating which will not only help the environment but also save consumers 25% on their electricity bills: “Annual running costs are low.” State Which? in the report. Dual thermostats mean that the temperature of the fridge and freezer sections can be precisely and independently adjusted: “Digitally controlled, it's easy to change the temperature by pressing the + or - buttons,” say Which.

Haier - delivering on their promises, available in-store

“In this one product, consumers will experience everything that Haier strives to provide. The quality, innovation and design involved in this fridge freezer have all been acknowledged by a variety of awards,” continues James Osborne. “Which’s Best Buy rating further confirms Haier as a competitive, credible and wise choice for British consumers.”

The AFL631CS/W is available from all good retailers nationwide.
