Question: Why no water comes out of the water heater after a water outage: causes and recovery methods?

Answer:
  • Fault cause:

After a water outage, the tap water loses inlet pressure. The water heater tank cannot be refilled with cold water, the water circulation is interrupted, and thus no hot water can flow out.

  • Recovery solutions:
  1. Disconnect the water heater power supply first to prevent dry burning and damage to the unit;

  2. Fully open the water heater inlet valve, and turn the household hot water faucet to the full hot water position and open it completely;

  3. Keep draining water until the flow is smooth with no air noise, which means the tank is full of water;

  4. After confirming normal water flow, reconnect the power supply of the electric water heater for normal use.

  • Daily tip:

It is recommended to close the water heater inlet valve in advance before a routine water outage, which can effectively avoid abnormal water outlet issues after the outage.
