World’s number one major appliances brand decides to invest heavily in UK indies
Surrey, UK – 1 February, 2011 – Haier, the world’s number one major appliances brand (source: Euromonitor, 2010), is pleased to announce the launch of its dedicated display programme for independent UK retailers.
The brand, which recently overhauled both its local and European structures with a series of high-level recruitments, is now investing heavily in the UK to become one of the top five household electrical appliance brands within the next five years.
A recent addition to Haier UK’s team in Surrey, Gregory Snooks has been appointed specifically to grow Haier’s independent business and to work directly with this retail segment to range and display its products. With 20 years’ white goods industry experience for both manufacturers and distributors, Gregory has always focused on the independent market and will now become the main Haier contact for these retailers.

To demonstrate its commitment to this retail segment, Haier also recently joined retra – the UK’s leading trade association for independent electrical retailers and servicing organisations. “We’re delighted to have Haier on board – as the world’s number one major appliances brand their presence in the white goods market is already strong and they have recently entered the UK with TV too. The 2 year guarantee that the brand is now making available exclusively to independents sets them up for a great future with retra members,” comments the association’s Chief Executive, Bryan Lovewell.
