Haier America Garners 2012 Award for Design Excellence (ADEX)
New York, NY -- Haier America has been named a Platinum Award winner for Touch Sense High-Efficiency Washer in the Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition, sponsored by Design Journal magazine.
In the last 17 years, ADEX has become the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.
“The 2011-12 ADEX Awards attracted upwards of 500 companies submitting more than 1,500 innovative new products,” said John Platter, executive director of ADEX. “The ADEX Award has recognized many outstanding product designs over the years, and Haier America’s Touch Sense High-Efficiency Washer has earned its place among that elite group.”
The Haier Front-Load washer has a smooth edged modern chassis design, with a large front glass window and comfortable door handle. The ergonomic Electronic Touch Sense controls are designed for ease of operation and offers easy viewing and reach while responding to the touch of a finger. The smooth control surface is easy to clean, and wash cycles clearly displayed with LED indicator lights for keeping track of the cycle’s progress.
"We are pleased that the Haier front-load laundry was chosen as this year's platinum ADEX Award Winner," said Richard Block, VP of Marketing for Haier America. "The Design Journal judges affirm our dedication to designing products that improve the lives of consumers.”
All of the entries in each of the ADEX categories have potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges awarded points based on form, function, value, and fitness for particular purpose. Total points earned determined each winner’s award level.
