Haier Cup 2024 Badminton Tournament

1.    Eligibility Of Participants:

1.1 Open to Malaysians aged 18 and above only.

1.2  National players (including any Current and Ex-National players), State players (including any Current and Ex-state players), any players that have participated in MSSM circuit, National and/or International BWF Tournaments are NOT ALLOWED to participate.

 

2.   Events:

2.1  Men’s Singles Amateur

2.2  Men’s Doubles Amateur

2.3  Mixed Doubles Amateur

2.4  Women’s Doubles Amateur

 

3.   Format & Scoring Systems:

 

3.1     Elimination/Knock Out/Semifinals Stage:

-  30 points best of 1 game

-  change of ends at the 15-point interval

-  90-second break between changing of ends

 

3.2     Final:

-  21 points, best of 3 games format

-  change of ends at the 11-point interval

- 90-second break between changing of ends

 

3.3     State Challenge

-  all State Challenge finalists (Champions and Runners Up) will automatically progress to the Grand Finals

-  there will be no 3rd/4th placing match for the losing semifinalists

-  only the Champions and Runners Up will receive prizes and medals

-  travel and accommodation expenses to the Grand Finals are to be borne by the participants

 

 

3.4     Grand Finals

- all Grand Champions from the Grand Finals will participate in the Regional Badminton Tournament held in Kuala Lumpur to compete against players from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines

-  accommodation expenses to the Regional Badminton Tournament are to be borne by Haier Malaysia

4.1  Registration for participants

(1)  All entries must be submitted as per the closing dates below, by 5pm.

       Kuching (Arena Sukan, Kuching) - 6 May 2024

       Johor Bahru (Sports Hub, Austin Heights) – 10 June 2024

       Penang (Berapit Badminton Hall, Bukit Mertajam) – 8 July 2024

       Kuala Lumpur (Tops Arena Empire, Cheras) - 29 July 2024



(2)  Participation is limited to 42 entries per event ONLY and are based on a first come, first served basis.

 

(3)  A fee of RM50 (for singles) and RM80 (per doubles pair) is to be made payable to:

(Please submit proof of payment together with the request for participation via the Google Form. Registration submissions without proof of payment will be considered void)

 

(There will be no refund for cancellations upon successful registration)

 

(4)  A participant is permitted to register for a maximum of ONE (1) event only.

 

(6) All information provided by the participants in the registration form must be complete, true and accurate. The organizers will not entertain nor in any way be held responsible for any dispute arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.

 

(7)    Submission of the registration form does not guarantee acceptance to participate in this Haier Cup 2024 Badminton Tournament. The Organizers reserve the right to not accept or reject the application from any person or party for whatever reason. Acceptance to participate is fully at the discretion of the Organizers and no reason shall be given for any rejected applications. Any rejected application shall be advised to the relevant individual/party at the soonest possible opportunity.

(8)    Each event must have a minimum of 16 entries. To fulfil this requirement, the Organizers reserve the right to cancel an event with insufficient entries or merge groups to make the event viable.

(9)    The registered name of the participant should strictly follow as is stated in the participant’s National Registration Identification Card (NRIC). The Organizers reserve the right to accept or reject names different from that in the NRIC. There will be no refund in such cases.

       (E.g. Participant’s NRIC name is Lim Ah Kau, Participant registers as Albert Lim. In this situation, the participant will be disqualified immediately.)

(10)  A 'no show' for a match or retirement from a match shall be treated as a walkover to the opponent and shall not prevent a player/pair from competing in another event in this tournament. General Competition Regulations 13.6.1 (forced withdrawal) DOES NOT apply here.

(11)  No Substitutions will be entertained once the draw is published on tournamentsoftware.com

(12)  A player scheduled to play two consecutive matches will be entitled to a   minimum break of 20 minutes

 

 

5.   Protests

(1)  Any protest will be handled by a Jury Committee consisting of the Organizing Chairman, Organizing Secretary, Technical Adviser, Tournament Referee and a Team Manager not involved in the case.

(2)  A protest must be submitted in writing together with a deposit of RM500 + printed proof. If the protest is successful, the deposit will be refunded. The deposit will be forfeited for any unsuccessful protest.

 

6.  Readiness to play

(1)  Participants are required to be at the hall 45 minutes before their match.

(2)  Matches may be called 10 minutes (TEN) before the scheduled time.

(3)  A 5-minute grace period is given for participants to be on court before a walkover in favour of the opponent is declared. (E.g. If a participant’s match time is at 9.00 am and if he/she fails to show up, disqualification will be announced at 9.05 am. The 5 minutes starts from the scheduled time or the time the match is announced should there be a delay)

(3) Timing for the match times’ will follow internet time.

 

7.  General

(1)  The Haier Cup 2024 Badminton Tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Laws of Badminton and General Competition Regulations.

 

(2)  By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) and/or service(s) and/or participate in any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organizer and the Event sponsors (“the Sponsors”), the individual (“the Participant”) is deemed to have given explicit permission for the Organizers and the Sponsors to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the individual, any personal information relating to that individual as may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for its programmes, planning, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions. The Organizers and the Sponsors declare by virtue of being the Event owner or sponsor, they can use services of third parties;

 

1.     For development or implementation of programme, products or services as it may deem necessary;

2.     For outsourcing of any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) and/or any activities;

3.     For promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes;

4.     For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;


5.     In connection with any proposed novation, assignment, transfer, sale, lease, license, partnership, joint-organizing and/or any collaboration where and when required in relation thereto.

6.     All Tournament and Technical decisions made by the Organizers and Referee are

FINAL. No protest nor appeal will be entertained.

7.     The Organizers/Referee/Umpire has the absolute right to require players or participants to present his or her original National Registration Identification Card (NRIC) upon request.

8.     Participants are required to bring their own badminton equipment for the tournament. The Organizers shall not be responsible to supply badminton equipment to any participant. However, shuttlecocks will be provided by the Organizers.

9.     While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organizers to ensure the Participants’ safety, the Organizers will not be responsible nor held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising from the games, during or after participation in the Tournament.

10.  The Organizers reserve the right to use any photographs (including those participants), motion picture recordings, or any media records of the event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to sponsors anywhere in the world.

11.  By accepting any prize or award in the Tournament, winners consent to being filmed and recorded by Haier or its designated representatives for the purpose of creating customer testimonial content. Winners understand that their likeness, voice, and statements may be recorded and used by Haier for promotional and marketing purposes. Winners will not receive any monetary compensation for participating in the video shoot. However, winners may receive complimentary gift or other incentives as a token of appreciation from Haier. 

12.  The Organizers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event at any time without prior notice to the participants, in which case the organizer will make every effort to inform the participants soonest feasible prior to the date of the tournament.
