The Laundromat has been installed using Haier washing machines

Lahore, November 13, 2014—Professor Dr. Mujahid Kamran inaugurated the Laundromat installed by Haier today at the Ayesha Sadeeqa Hall, Female Hostel #2, Punjab University Lahore. The Laundromat has been set up in the Girl’s Hostel of Punjab University with the support of the Higher Education Commission and is the first of many others to be installed in other universities. The event was attended by dignitaries from the Government, Private sector and senior colleagues from Haier,  including Mr. Jin Fuxing Director Haier Pakistan, Professor Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, Lahore, Hostel Warden Professor Dr. Mumtaz Begum, Mr. Li Dapeng Head of Sales & Marketing, Mr. Munawer Durrani, Director Sales & Marketing, Mr. Waheeb Ismail, Head Marketing, Mr. Noor Product Manager Washing Machine, Mr. Dong Product Manager washing Machine among others.

The Laundromat has been equipped with the state of the art, high quality, environmentally friendly Haier washing machines. The machines used are the same that these girls may use at their homes and are durable.

“It is indeed encouraging to see our education institutions facilitating the students, especially women, in their time away from their homes” said Dr. Mujahid, while addressing the gathering. He further added that “it is with the support of organizations like Haier, that progress will be made possible. We all have to work together for the betterment of the youth.”

During his speech, the Director of Haier, Mr. Jin Fuxing shared that “at Haier we believe in being active members of society. These Laundromats have been fitted with efficient machines which will ease the task for the young women living in hostels. We are grateful to the Higher Education Commission for their support in making it possible for us to provide this service to the society.” The Haier Official also offered one scholarship and internship programs mainly in engineering, business and commerce for female students.

Over ---- many girls living in the hostel will benefit from the Laundromat. The machines are easy to use (one touch solution) and built to ease the washing tasks. Haier hopes to install other Laundromats in Girls’ Hostels in other Universities with the continued support of the Higher Education Commission.
