1. Turn off the AC unit's power, open the panel, if the filter is covered with a visible layer of dust, lint, fibers, or other debris, it definitely needs cleaning.

2. If the airflow from the air conditioner weakens significantly, or the operating sound of the AC is louder or sounds more strained than usual, it may be due to a clogged filter obstructing air circulation.

3. When you turn on the AC, the air blowing out has a musty, dusty, or other unpleasant odor, the filter may have accumulated mold or dust, it should be cleaned promptly.
