Haier Electrical Appliances (M) Sdn Bhd will launch over 30 new products in Malaysia this year as the company is bullish on the future of home appliances and consumer electronics here.

Haier Malaysia managing director Shi Zhiyuan said the company will bring innovative products with world-leading technology such as freshness refrigerator with triple cooling system and dry & humidity zones.

It will also introduce DD inverter self-cleaning washing machine, inverter smart cleaning healthy air conditioner and anti-dry smart kitchen appliances, he said at the unveiling of "Haier World of Appliances" here today.

"These are energy efficient and eco-friendly products. I believe the products such as the refrigerator will be favourable to the consumers because they will not only provide them with very good solutions for a better lifestyle, but also perfectly match the younger generation's pursuit of fashion life, humanity and values" said Shi Zhiyuan.

Shi Zhiyuan said products like the DD inverter self-cleaning washing machine, inverter smart cleaning healthy air conditioner and anti-dry safety gas cooker are patented products newly launched in the global market by Haier Group.

Using leading technology, it has completely solved users’ long-standing problems and worries of health, convenience, and safety, he said.

Shi Zhiyuan expects the spending on these products will increase year-on-year as more and more younger generation and the millennials move towards purchasing their first homes.

"They would choose not only the product itself, but one that is more humanized and better fit their individual values," he added.

Haier, the global No 1 brand of major appliances, has had a presence in the Malaysian market for 16 years.

The company offers a full range of home appliances including refrigerator, washing machine, freezer, domestic and commercial air conditioner, LED TV and small appliances.

It imports most of its products and distributes them through more than 300 retail outlets and major chain stores in Malaysia.

Shi Zhiyuan said that the Haier World of Appliances is a gateway into the world of Haier with new product line-up, to further expand the brand's influence.

"The unveiling is a continuation for Haier Malaysia to showcase the latest technology and innovative products customers, after the successful opening of Haier Experience Centre at SetiaWalk, Puchong earlier this year," he said.
