Causes of clothes damage:
Overloading – Too many clothes can cause friction and strain on fabrics.
Zippers/Buttons left open – Metal or hard parts can snag delicate fabrics.
Wrong wash cycle – Using a harsh cycle (e.g., heavy-duty) for delicate fabrics.
Mixing heavy & Light fabrics – Heavy items (jeans, towels) can abrade lighter fabrics.
Detergent issues – Too much detergent or using the wrong type can weaken fibers.
How to prevent damage:
1.Sort clothes properly
Separate heavy/dense fabrics (jeans, towels) from delicate items (silk, lace).
Wash similar fabrics together (e.g., cotton with cotton).
2.Use the right wash cycle
Delicate Mode for fragile fabrics (wool, silk, lace).
Gentle/Hand Wash mode for clothes with embellishments.
3.Close zippers & fasten buttons
Prevents metal/plastic parts from catching and tearing fabric.
4.Use mesh laundry bags
Protects delicate items (bras, stockings, lace) from friction.
5.Avoid overloading
Leave space (about a fist-size gap) between clothes and the drum’s edge. Check detergent & temperature
6.Use mild detergent for delicate fabrics.
Follow care labels for water temperature.
7.Remove items promptly after washing
Wet clothes left in the machine can stretch, fade, or develop odors.
