Haier

"Haier has made contributions to our country", Li Zhaoxing said. Haier has successfully incorporated the innovative spirit in marketing practice. I believe that Haier's success is derived from its innovative spirit and the capability to incorporate the innovative spirit in marketing practice. The seminar on Haier's global brand building strategy is an example to demonstrate the significance and successful implementation of the economic development theory put forward by China's former President Deng Xiaoping and China's national economic policy on independent and innovative development. In 1999, I attended the opening ceremony for Haier's plant in South Carolina. I was very excited for and proud of the significant progress of China and also my hometown, which plays an important role in China's diplomatic affairs. At invitation of the governor of South Carolina, I attended the ceremony. Haier plant in the United States provides more than 200 job opportunities and Haier has been praised by the local residents and the governor for the contributions to the local economic prosperity. I sincerely hope that Haier keeps working diligently for greater success in business performance. Haier's innovation is practical and realistic. Not long ago, I was honored to accompany Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to visit India and Pakistan. Mr. Premier praised two Chinese companies, Huawei and Haier. He praised Haier's endeavors in innovation. I make an explanation of Haier's practical and realistic understanding of innovation and human oriented management. Haier designed and developed washing machines for consumers in Pakistan and India with consideration of water quality and hardness, as well the popular clothing of gowns which require large volume and capacity of washing machines. Due to the satisfactory functions and design, Haier has nearly dominated the markets of washing machines in the two countries. Haier is expected to continue innovation and to create more values for the motherland. This meeting is aimed to show Haier's determination to carry out independent innovation put forward by the central government. During the time I worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I was inspired by and excided for some experiences. A Shanghai-based company has to pay 18 US dollars to the owner of intellectual property right for every one set DVD exported at a price of 32 US dollars. The story tells us a truth that the key to China's economic prosperity is independence in technological research. It is a remarkable event to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Haier's founding. I hope that Haier starts a new journey from now on and makes great success in the future for China's economic development and improvement of Chinese people's living standards.
