Haier placed first the 4th time in enterprise technological research assessment Haier Technology Center is ranked first the 4th time consecutively by the state central administration The China National Development and Reform Commission issued the results of 2003 Survey of Enterprise Technical Centers not long ago, placing Haier Technical Center first the forth time consecutively. Reportedly, the survey highlighted technical innovation, resource integration, patent application and standard establishment for overall evaluation of technical research institutes of state level enterprises. In 2003, Haier Technical Center integrated favorable resources, developed 406 products, applied 682 technological patents, including 85 for inventions, on average, 1.5 new products developed and 2.7 patents applied per day. In addition, Haier Technical Center was authorized by the central administration to prepare and constitute 4 sets of technological standards, to carry out 2 projects of The State 863 Program and to house China¡¯s first enterprise laboratory and research center.
