Haier 2003 global sales hit RMB80 billion, close to the Fortune Global 500 ----"The 19th Anniversary of the Founding of Haier Group, the 5th Anniversary of Haier Management Restructure and the Seminar for Haier Global Competitiveness Improvement" held On December 26, 2003, ¡±The 19th Anniversary of the Founding of Haier Group, the 5th Anniversary of Haier Management Restructure and the Seminar for Haier Global Competitiveness Improvement¡± was held in the campus of newly completed Haier Software College and Yang Mianmian, President of Haier Group announced that Haier 2003 global sales was RMB80 billion (USD9.7 billion) with an annual increase of 70%, accounting for 12/13 of the minimum of the Fortune Global 500. The Euro-monitor statistics show that Haier is in second place, up from previous third, for global whitegoods sales in terms of brand. Han Yuquan, Vice Secretary of the CPC Shandong Committee and Governor of Shandong Government, send a message of congratulations for the meeting.
