VOA Comments Haier's Success In USA VOA released a report on January 30, 2003, commenting Haier's business success in the United States. "To research the secret of Haier's success in the States, Zhou Youlian, journalist of VOA, is interviewing Haier (America) factory and Haier headquarters. Zhou Youlian says, to develop and cement market share in the United States, Haier has established a refrigerator production factory in Camden, SC. Some people did not think that Chinese companies could be successful in overseas investment, and Haier could do nothing but purchasing an old refrigerator factory in Campton, or just working with an American refrigerator company for production. However, when I visited Haier in Campton, what I saw was not old, but completely new rectangular shaped American standard workshops totaled 300,000 cubic meters."
