May 25 Daily Yomiuri: Haier CEO Visits "Japan Bridge"
On May 24th, Mr Zhang Ruimin, chief executive officer of the largest Chinese motor manufacturer and business partner of Sanyo Motor ¨C Haier Group, paid a visit to the Japan Bridge Commercial Street in Osaka, when Haier products were put on the local market here.
Mr Zhang talked with the accompanying Sanyo officials while making comparisons with the Japanese and Korean commodities. At the end of the inspection, Mr Zhang said, "Japan is the last competitive market of Haier products. Japan is known as the kingdom of household appliances. It will take a long time for the local consumers to accept Haier products. Hope to hear customer opinions directly from the shops. It will be helpful for our future production." This shows the CEO's decision to develop the Japanese market.
Haier washing machines and refrigerators had been on sale in a local electrical chain store. In the words of the manager of the store, "From the Haier appliances we know they have a thorough knowledge of the Japanese market."
