The "Haier Train", which not only showcases the Haier Group's home appliances but also posts Chinese history, culture and tourism resources, began its tour around France. The departing ceremony was held in Paris on March 7, 2002.
This go-around tour is the first full-swing advertising activity organized by the Haier Europe operation in France. As many as 300 people from the Paris business circle attended the event.
According to the organizer, the "Haier Train" is composed of 7 cars, each furnished as an exhibition hall. It started from Paris in the evening of Thursday, heading for 11 large and medium sized cities such as Lille, Strasbourg, Leon and Marseille. The travel will last over 20 days. The "Train" will stay for one to three days in each city. Its final stop is the western city of Rennes. The total journey covers more than 4,000 kilometers. People on the way can, through viewing pictures and real machines and devices, get a knowledge of Haier's high technology, China's ethnic culture and long history as well as many tourism resorts.
In France, consumers have already come to recognize that the Haier brand is an internationally well-known brand. There will be a large market for Haier's electronic products in France and other European countries, said the spokesman for the organizer in an interview by a reporter with the Xinhua News Agency, the official Chinese news media.
