Haier: Export Orders Push the Speedy Project in Dalian
Haier (Dalian) Industrial Park (HDIP), one of the Haier's 9 industrial parks around the globe, opened on December 29th, 2001.
To date, the park is the largest enterprise in the Dalian Export Processing Area.
Bo Xilai, governor of North East China's Liaoning Province, sent a message to congratulate on the park's opening. Participants in the opening ceremony included Xia Deren, vice governor of Liaoning Province, Li Yongjin, mayor of Dalian, Zong He, vice mayor of Qingdao, Zhuang Ruimin, CEO of Haier, and Yang Mianmian, president of the Haier company.
The HDIP, located in the Dalian Export Processing Area, covers a land of 40 hectares. The first phase of the project, which is designed to manufacture mini-refrigerators and window type air conditioners for export market, is constructed in an land with an area 110,000 square meters, equal to a floor space of 15 standard soccer fields altogether. Both sides (Dalian and Haier) began the negotiation on the project on August 22nd , 2001, and a contract was signed on September 7th. It took only 15 days for conclusion of the project. The construction started on September 18th, and 87 days later, on December 13th came the trial production. That is a workshop with a floorage equal to that of one soccer field was built up in every 5 days. This speedy conclusion and construction owes much to the support by the officials and governments of Dalian on one part, and to the push of the export orders received by Haier on other part.
Xia Deren, vice governor of Liaoning, called on the provincial and Dalian governments to continue their full support for Haier's investment in Dalian, to "pave a Green Passage for the Haier's development as a kickback".
