Remarked Wang Qizhong, director of China Cartoon Association Beijing Branch, at the completion ceremony of the shooting of "Haier Brother" on May 26. Since the beginning of the 1990's, Haier Group has been paying back to the society while securing development on its own, especially concerning itself with the nourishment for the mind of the young. "Haier Brother" is a product specially made for the nourishment of the children. It is the longest cartoon in China and the fourth longest one in the world. The hero Haier Brother is travelling round the five continents and four oceans and experiencing 238 difficult and dangerous journeys in 56 countries, which total more than 190,000 kilometers, equivalent to nearly 5 times the distance round the earth. On May 26, the cartoon, which had taken eight years to shoot and drawn in RMB30 million with a total of 1,000km long picture drawings, was completed. Leaders from China Children's Foundation and National Women's Federation attended the completion ceremony. Zhou Yunjie, vice president of Haier Group, on behalf on the group, donated one thousand copies of "Haier Brother" cartoon disks to China Children Center. Zhao Shunyi, director of China Children Center, said in his speech: "Haier is not only a world famous enterprise but also an outstanding contributor to the healthy growth of children." Recently an American TV station signed a contract with Haier Group for the broadcasting right of the 212-episode cartoon "Haier Brother". The "American Cartoon Channel", the biggest children cartoon channel in the US, welcomes the broadcasting plan for "Haier Brother".
