On April 12, Mr. Zhang and his company flew to Dacca, capital of Bengal, from Pakistani capital Islamabad to attend the opening ceremony of Haier (Bengal) Factory. Haier (Bengal) Factory was jointly established by Haier Group and a local company and has been put into the production of Haier air conditioners. It is reported that American products used to take up Bengal household electric appliances market, however, their sales volume keeps reducing dramatically for nearly 1 year. One major reason for that lies in that when the potential market turns to real purchase power, many household electric appliances producers fail to supply the products that satisfy the local customers in both prices and product varieties. Mr. Zhang reiterated Haier's localized development strategy when he offered an interview to Bengal press and said that Haier's entry into Pakistan and Bengal is the application of such a strategy as "first selecting a optimal product that meets the local demand best, then making the marketing working well and then introducing more other Haier products to the local market by means of localization strategy". Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Lu Shulin and Chinese ambassador to Bengal Hu Qianwen presented themselves at the opening ceremony of Haier (Bengal) Factory.
