Haier Group becomes the only Chinese member of the World Design Organization The awarding ceremony of Haier entering the World Design Organization was held in the Central Research Institute on August 2nd, 2000. Mr. Zhutao, the Vice Head of the State Light Industry Bureau and the President of China Design Association, Mayor Wang Jiarui of Qingdao City and Chairman of the World Design Organization attended the awarding ceremony. Haier Group becomes the only Chinese member of the World Design Organization. This symbolizes the industrial design of Chinese enterprise is forge ahead the world level. Mr. Zhutao addressed in the ceremony on behalf of the State Light Industry Bureau and China Design Association. Mayor Wang Jiarui hoped that Haier would design more and more delicate products and win honor for the Chinese nation. CEO Zhang Ruimin pointed out that Haier had been following the aim of the industrial design. That was to heighten the life quality of the people. We emphasized the heightening of the life quality from the broadening of the market demand through the industrial design. In the awarding ceremony, Haier net home appliance, Jin Wangzi Refrigerator, MRV air conditioners, Xiao XiaoShentong washing machines and other products were awarded Haier excellent design special award of the World Design Organization member. Some experts believe that Haier entering the World Design Organization reflects the strong international competitiveness.
