Haier Group wins Global Climate Award Haier Group won the Global Climate Award on May 26th, 2000. UN Development Plan Bureau and American Environment Protection Bureau awarded Haier in Beijing. Vice President Zhou Yunjie was present at the awarding ceremony. The Global Climate Award is set to decrease environment pollution and improve the living conditions of people. UN Development Plan Bureau and American Environment Protection Bureau jointly conduct it. 19 organizations and individuals have won this award by far. Haier Group is the first enterprises from China to win this award. Representative Buruku of American embassy gave this award to Haier on behalf of American State Environment Protection Bureau. He addressed that it was the first time for him to award Chinese enterprise. He was pleased that Haier had made a good start.
