Haier opened the doors on Friday to its Smart Living Pavilion, a showcase of Haier’s most innovative home-living solutions that is set to be one of the of the main attractions at the International Horticultural Exposition (IHE) 2014 in Qingdao, China.
The pavilion is designed to reflect the theme of this year’s event - "From the earth, for the Earth." The pavilion highlight Haier’s most innovative, energy-saving and environmentally friendly home appliances, and also demonstrate how Haier’s smart living solutions are designed with a keen awareness of the importance of harmony and balance between users and their surroundings.
The space features seven independent zones highlighting Haier’s perspectives on the future of smart living. In the Comfort Air Zone, for example, Haier’s recent breakthrough products, the Tianzun air conditioner and the Smart Air Box, are on display and demonstrate how Haier’s air purification and conditioning technology can be used to create a healthy and intelligent atmosphere. The Fresh Zone features demonstrations of Haier’s smart refrigerators that can recommend recipes and meal ideas based on the food users have available.
Haier celebrated the opening of the Expo and the pavilion Friday evening with a spectacular light show that illuminated the world-renowned beachside area of Qingdao. In addition, over the coming months, Haier will host a series of Expo-related activities on its website, including a virtual tour of the pavilion for those who cannot enjoy it in person.
Haier is one of the main partners of this year’s IHE, which being held in Haier’s hometown of Qingdao for the first time. The event is organized under the auspices of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), which also organizes the World Expos, and the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH). It is expected to attract more than 12 million visitors over the next five months.
