Haier Japan Sales Co., Ltd will inspect and repair or replace for free Haier br..
Starting November 12th, 2010, Haier Japan Sales Co., Ltd will begin voluntarily inspecting 3 series of its small-sized washing machines. Washing machines to be inspected consist of 18 washing machine models and defective parts will be repaired or replaced for free when necessary. Affected models to be inspected were imported to Japan between April 2002 and December 2006 by Haier Japan Sales Co., Ltd and Sanyo Haier Co., Ltd.
Affected washing machines may leek and release smoke due to a malfunctioning capacitor. Haier Japan Sales Co., Ltd will address consumer's concerns by inspecting the washing machines involved, and if necessary repair or replace the appliances at no cost for the consumer.
From January 2007, these models of washing machines sold in Japan are fitted with a new safety capacitor, complying with the revised Electrical Appliance & Materials Safety Regulation of Japan four years in advance. The new regulation requires manufacturers to adopt the safety capacitor as of September 1st, 2010.
Because Japan adopts a different voltage frequency standard (100V/50.60HZ) from other countries, the capacitors installed in the above-mentioned washing machine were designed exclusively for the Japan market and are not available in other markets.
Haier Japan Sales Co., Ltd is announcing this voluntary service statement on their official website. Haier Japan Sales, Co., Ltd has set up a toll free hotline for customers.
