Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin wins "Award of Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Brand"
On Aug. 18, the "CCTV 60 Years-60 Brands" Awarding Ceremony was held at Peking University Hall. Haier Group was among the award-winners. Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin won the "Award of Outstanding Contribution to Chinese Brand" and was invited to attend the awarding ceremony.
Long Yongtu, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, Li Baomin, Assistant Director for Research Center of SASAC and other leaders attended the awarding ceremony. During the awarding ceremony, He Jihai, President of China General Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Drik Moens, Secretary-General of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China conferred the awards to Haier CEO Zhang Ruimin.
In his speech, Zhang Ruimin said that, "I think it is very difficult to create a world famous brand. It takes a long time because we must change people's concept first; we foster a new concept in this process, i.e. quality is not equal to brand. Quality is only the necessary condition for brand creation and taste is no other than the sufficient condition for brand creation."
It is reported that this activity was organized by CCTV.com and undertook by the channel of "Brand International" of CCTV.com with the strategic support from CCTV-2. During the activity, the "60 Brands in Promoting Chinese Economy and Influencing People's Life on the Occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Foundation of PRC" were selected. Haier was among the award-winners, indicating that the vast consumers recognize the brand of Haier. So Haier will provide more comfortable product solutions to consumers with continuous innovation.
