Haier is among the Only Three Electric Appliances Winners of IDEA 2008 Recently, Business Week and the Industrial Designers Association of America jointly declared the winners of IDEA 2008, and the Italian-style three-gate refrigerator (as shown in the picture) designed by QHG of Haier Group won the design award for family life products, the only refrigerator product winning the award in 2008. It is reported that IDEA was established by Business Week and the Industrial Designers Association of America in 1980, on an annual basis. Equally famous as IF of Germany, Red Dot Design Awards of Germany and G-Mark Awards of Japan, IDEA has a broad influence worldwide. The list of products winning the award is publicized in July every year on Business Week and advertised on hundreds of media including CNN, BBC and New York Times. This year totally 1,517 products participated in the evaluation, of which only a little bit more than 300 can win the award. Besides Haier, there are only another two home appliances producers won the award, namely, Whirlpool and Samsung.
