Actively Participating in Olympics, Promoting Haier in Becoming a Globalized Brand
On August 3rd, journalists from renowned domestic and foreign media including CCTV, China Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Economic Daily, AFP, Lavanguardia of Spain, IPS of Italy and Yomiuri Shimbun of Japan visited and interviewed Haier Group for its sponsorship of the Beijing Olympics.
In the morning, the journalists visited the Product Display Hall in the Central Building, showing great interest in the green, energy-saving and innovational Olympic products of Haier. Then they interviewed leaders including Liang Haishan, senior vice president of Haier Group and president of White Goods Group, on the work done by Haier as the white household appliances sponsor for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In the afternoon, journalists from CCTV News, Half-Hour Economy and China Daily had a special interview with Zhang Ruimin, CEO of Haier Group. Zhang Ruimin answered the journalists' questions on "the promotion function of Haier's participation in Olympics in creating a globalized Haier brand" and "development strategy of Haier".
Zhang Ruimin said, "The aim of Haier is to create globalized brand and the Olympics is an excellent platform which will improve the reputation of Haier in international market." As for the development strategy of Haier, Zhang Ruimin explained, "Haier has established R&D Center, Manufacturing Base and Marketing Center overseas. Based on these important bases and centers, we are building a globalized network covering globalized logistics, capital flow and information flow network. It will guarantee Haier's global expansion."
It is reported that this interview by journalists from domestic and foreign media will be highlighted on various media as an Olympic offering before the Olympics is opened.
