A Story about Haier Taking Place at New York Airport
One day in September 2006, Haier chief representative in Beijing Chen Weijia visited some UN representative assistant.
When talking about the influence of Haier, this assistant told Chen a story about Haier taking place at New York Airport.
New York Airport, US.
A female Chinese enterpriser stood in the lobby of the airport. She had too much luggage with her and wanted help. But she was worried about her language obstacle.
Just then, an American waitress came up with a luggage barrow. She helped the enterpriser with her luggage and put it away. In order to show her appreciation, the enterpriser tipped waitress 100 dollars.
Obviously the waitress was overjoyed! She talked happily with the enterpriser with signs and gestures.
But, unfortunately, due to language obstacle, they were unable to communicate. Just then, an interpreter came up.
It turned out that the waitress wanted to say that it had been a long time ago that she was tipped so much. So she was ready to offer more and better help for this lady.
"Not everyone is so lucky". The Chinese woman smiled, "I came to her for help because I saw an Ad of Haier, one of our famous household appliance brands, on her barrow!" As she pointed to this Haier logo on the barrow, all of them smiled.
