From China Made to China Created Haier Being Winner of the Most Competitive Br.. In the afternoon of Feb 12, 2007 a ceremony The Road of China Brands jointly sponsored by Ministry of Commerce and CCTV was held in Beijing. Gu Xiulian, vice-chairman of CPCC and leaders from Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Publicity and Ministry of Public Security attended the event. CEO Zhang Ruimin from Haier Group was invited. At the meeting, Ministry of Commerce issued the list of Most Competitive Brands 2006. Haier Group won the prize under the category of household electric appliances. CEO Zhang Ruimin and other distinguished economists, like Ai Feng were invited to the event as VIP guests to unveil the mark of the China Export Brands. Zhang said, "Chinese enterprises must create world famous brands, upgrading China Made to China Created!" A newsreel about Haier's exploration of the Middle East market led by Yan Xuhong, the Middle East Branch Manager of Haier Overseas Promotion Division, was broadcast at the event.
