Haier grows up in Sri Lanka
As learned that I am from Haier, he, with great excitement, complimented that Haier is superb and people in Sri Lanka show great respect to China and Chinese brands.
With the respect to Haier brand, dealer A held a ceremony of "celebrations with lights" at the opening of the Haier store.
The beautiful Sri Lanka and the growing Haier
Seen from the map, Sri Lanka, a beautiful island country, is just like a drop of tear of India. In terms of economic status, Sri Lanka is well known as a pearl in the Indian Ocean. It is a free, open and mysterious place and free competition and open policy are encouraged in this country. However, due to the civil war, most people are still in poverty.
In 2003, Haier products entered common people's families in Sri Lanka.
Dealer A's store has a long history and he takes good care of Haier products just like they are his own children. His current scale in household electrical appliances ranks the top in Sri Lanka with more than 100 chain stores all over the country, among which, 21 stores are special for Haier products.
Respect Chinese brands--the virtuous and sincere Sri Lanka people
Most Sri Lanka people believe in Buddhism and at every corner of the road in the capital city of Colombo there is a figure of Buddha, which makes people pure from the bottom of the hearts. Sri Lanka people are hospitable. Before I took the plane to Sri Lanka, I got to know a Sri Lanka person who had come to China for business. We were on the same flight and were neighbors. We talked much during the flight and exchanged business cards. As learned that I am from Haier, he, with great excitement, complimented that Haier is superb and people in Sri Lanka show great respect to China and Chinese brands. Upon arrival, he said repeatedly that should I need any help just call him. As expected, I "troubled" him many times on my first day in Sri Lanka. He gave me a SIM card for temporary use and lent me 5000 rupees, the local currency. And, we just knew each other by coincidence. The culture brings up the virtuous and sincere Sri Lanka people.
Respect Haier people--my "bodyguard" brother in Sri Lanka
In Sri Lanka, there is one dark-skinned guy accompanying me all the time. His name sounds like a brother of Buddhist, so we call each other "brother", and he is our client.
Due to the civil war, the thing that Brother concerned the most was my safety. Therefore, he accompanied me everywhere I went, just like my bodyguard. He told me that he need to protect me because I am a Haier person and Haier people are their friends. I was deeply moved and also proud of being a Haier person.
Brother showed me many stores. In one of the Haier stores, a man came to buy a freezer and learned that I was from Haier Headquarter, he talked to me excitedly and said, "Haier ice bar is very good and this is my second one." Sri Lanka people love to sing and dance and when they sing and dance, they would like to have a drink. Therefore, Haier ice bar became their "good friend".
In one of the local bars, I found that not only ice bar, but also the air conditioner, freezer and other electrical appliances were all Haier products. Haier ice bar and freezer are quite popular among Sri Lanka people and their market share ranks the top.
Respect Haier brand--"celebration with lights"
Another Haier Store Established
Celebration with lights is the tradition in Sri Lanka. At the important festival or ceremony, Sri Lanka people will celebrate by lighting the cockscomb light tower, beating the waist drums and dancing like people of one of our minorities, Tu. Mystery and tradition spread over the ceremony.
On June 5th 2006, the 21st Haier Store in Sri Lanka was set up. With the respect to Haier brand, dealer A held a ceremony of "celebrations with lights" at the opening of the Haier store. The tower was lighted with the beating of the drums and the music of the dance, which symbols the business of this store will increase continuously. This splendid scene impressed me a lot.
Road performance follows the ceremony. Sri Lanka people love music very much and almost all of them danced when the band played the music that people were familiar with. Even the kids and the aged joined the crowd and danced their local dances. On the performance cars, Haier flags swung in the wind, as if they were dancing with the hospitable Sri Lanka people.
Haier brings a new inspiration to Sri Lanka
The cocoa trees have recorded the scars from the Tsunami in 2004. From the capital city Colombo till 200 kilometers southward, all cocoa leaves are yellow. Brother told me that this is the place hit by the 2004 Tsunami. No matter how high the cocoa trees were, Tsunami exceeded all trees. It is said that 50,000 people were sent to death by this 20-meter high Tsunami wall. On this exact place set up the 21st Haier Store. We hope that Haier, coming with inspired living, will calm down all their sadness and bring them joy, new inspiration and new hope.
The tear that comes down from India face still shines in south Asia. I am looking forward to Haier becoming a shining star that shines all over Sri Lanka, and all over south Asia.
