"I hope more Chinese companies purchase office buildings in New York!" Staff report: On March 11, Mr. Liu Biwei, Consul General of Chinese Consulate in New York, and his wife, accompanied by Fan Zhan, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, visited the headquarters of Haier (America) at an invitation. Mr. Michael Jemal hosted the guests in the headquarters and introduced the operation status of Haier (America). Mr. Liu Biewei greeted Chinese and American employees in Haier and said that Haier had been a household word not only in China, but also in many foreign countries. "The office building of Haier (America) is as good as I have heard about. Like many other Chinese people, I, as a representative of Chinese Government, feel pleased and also proud of the success of Haier in development in the United States. I hope more Chinese companies enter American market," the consul general said and continued that Chinese diplomatic offices are destined for domestic economic development and committed to provide assistance any way possible to Chinese business people in overseas development.
