Forbes China: Haier is the most valuable brand in China.
An article, entitled "China's Most Prospective Brand in China", published on the column "Chinese Brands",Forbes China 1/2004, writes that, during the survey process of the most valuable Chinese brands, Beijing Famous-Brand Evaluation Co., Ltd., Access Asia, a London-based market survey institute, and Chen Gang, an independent Chinese brand assets assessor collected lots of information and references. Haier was finally placed first on the list.
The article points out that since 1984, China witnessed economic prosperity, and many successful companies purchased and merged failing enterprise assets. Haier became China's largest manufacturer of home appliances and distributed 250 varieties of consumer products, such as dishwashers and microwave ovens, in the United States at Wal-Mart and Costco and more than 1,000 local agents. In 2002, Haier started manufacture in the United States and localized product designs to satisfy the demands of American consumers.
