Haier Wins APQO Award The 8th Asia and Pacific Quality Organization Conference was held in the International Convention Center of Beijing September 17. APQO presented the 2002 Asia and Pacific Quality Management Award to seven enterprises of the region. Haier was among them, becoming the first household appliance manufacturer in China to receive this honor. APQO is composed of quality organizations from 12 countries including the US, Mexico, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and China. The annual award is intended for qualified outstanding enterprises of the member countries. This year's winners include China's Haier Group and Baoshan Steel Works.
