Pakistan-made Haier Products An introductory meeting for Haier products was held in Islamabad, Pakistan on August 22. Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Zhang Chunxiang, and his counselors, some Pakistani officials and distributors, as well as personnel from Haier Group attended the ceremony. There were seven categories and 24 kinds of Haier refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and freezers on show, of which, all but freezers were manufactured in Pakistan. The production of Haier (Pakistan) can basically meet the needs in the south Asian region. About 300 local distributors were on the invitation list, but according to a count half an hour before the opening ceremony, there were nearly 400 people at the meeting place. One of them said, "We have no worry dealing with Haier products as Haier's always considerate for the customers. We are free of trouble using Haier products because Haier (Pakistan) will do everything for us and always satisfy our needs on a phone call just as Haier does in China! Today, they have us here to find faults with their locally made products. I have worked as a dealer for dozens of years, but this is the first time I've ever done this. I bet that these products are perfect, because what we think they usually have done!" Located in the City of Lahore, Haier (Pakistan) is the group's second overseas industrial park. Starting construction on April 10, 2001, it produced the first washing machine on May 6, 2002, the first refrigerator on May 26, and the first air conditioner on June 28. At present, products made here are exported to many other south Asian countries.
