Haier Refrigerator Meets European A+ Energy Standard Recently, ERT, the most influential magazine in the UK household appliance industry, carried an article saying that Haier refrigerator met the European Class A+ energy norm. Currently, there are only two brands enjoying such honor ¨C Haier refrigerator having 6 models and the other having only one model. In countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, consumers buying Class A+ refrigerators will receive a EUR 100 government subsidy (equivalent to RMB750). The news caused a sensation in the European household appliance industry. This means that Haier has established itself as a famous brand with its high technology and high product quality in Europe. It is reported that many countries have established technical barriers in order to promote environmental protection by raising the energy consumption standards for household appliances. In early 1999, Haier refrigerator passed the European Class A energy certification and won a 50 Deutsche Marks subsidy from the German government. A+ standard products will save 20%-30% energy compared with the Class A products.
