UN Confers Honor on Haier On May 7th, O.N. Rusak, Chairman of the UN International Academy of Ecology and Life Protection Siences, made a special trip to Haier Group. There he announced that Haier Group was conferred the honorary title of "The Top Enterprise of International Secure Zoology" and CEO Zhang Ruimin was awarded the honorary title of "International Outstanding Entrepreneur" by the UN in order to commend the prominent contributions Haier had made in protecting ecological safety. Yang Mianmian, President of Haier Group, gave the guests a warm welcome at the Haier Central Building. She briefed the guests on Haier's persistent endeavors for ecological safety in production, for developing freon-free refrigerators and air conditioners, and for obtaining the ISO14001 environmental protection certificate. Chairman Rusak said: "I am very excited about this visit to Haier. Haier products are elegant and of high quality. They are fully up to the ecological safety standards. Your working environment here is also great. Haier is one of the international leaders in ecological safety. I am very glad that Haier has been chosen as "The Top Enterprise of International Secure Zoology".
