"Qingdao Has a Company Just Like Benz" On May 7th, a delegation from the world-famous Daimler-Chrysler Co, led by Deputy President Matthias Kleinert, paid a visit to Haier. Wu Kesong, vice chairman of the board of directors of Haier Group, received the guests. "I feel proud every time I stand in the sample room of the Daimler-Chrysler Co and make introductions to the visitors, for it is Benz. Now I think Haier is a company everyone should be proud of, it is a Benz in the household appliance industry!" Mr Kleinert said after seeing the products of the Group. When Li Suxia, general manager of the European Department of the Haier Overseas Market Development Center, who was accompanying the guests, told them that Haier had 500 dealers in Europe, Mr Kleinert said: "I want to be the 501st. I'd like to be a promoter and spokesman for Haier products!" And he expressed immediately to buy Haier refrigerators. During a meeting with Mr Wu, the deputy president said: "Hope to set up a joint venture company some day with Haier and name it Haier-Benz." In a follow-up interview with the local reporters, Mr Kleinert said: "Tomorrow I will meet with the German Chancellor and I will tell him that Qingdao has extremely excellent companies. Of course, I will also help make Haier known when I come back to Germany and tell the German people that Qingdao has a company just like Benz."
