"Nanhua Morning News": Haier is getting higher
"Nanhua Morning News" published an article recently entitled "Haier is getting higher", which gave a thorough description of Haier's achievements in its globalization drive. Excerpts follow:
Camden Factory, as the latest of its 12 overseas factories, is part of the strategy, which bids defiance to GE and Panasonic, to become the world's largest household appliance manufacturer.
Mr. Zhang Ruimin is a famous entrepreneur in China and also the first Chinese entrepreneur to give lectures in Harvard Business School. He can match GE's Welch.
Haier's brand is promoted through uniforms, advertisements, worker's sports meets, and the like, as well as through naming local roads and streets in Qingdao and Camden with the enterprise name.
As for the future existence and development after China's entry into the WTO, Mr. Zhang said that the quality of Chinese goods is as good as the American ones. The only difference is that their brands are different.
