Haier Introduced its New Color TVs to Saudi Arabia
The Haier Group, a Chinese household appliance giant, introduced its new color TVs at an exhibition held in Saudi Arabia on August 5th 2001. The products at the show included 7 series, 21 versions of color TVs, specially designed for consumers in the Middle East. 75 of Haier's dealers in Saudi Arabia attended a separate meeting held by Haier and some of them received awards from the Haier Group.
"It's for the first time that such a large convention is held by a Chinese enterprise in Saudi Arabia. This showed the Haier Group's potential and technological power", said the charge d'a ffaires with the Chinese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, who also took part in the meeting.
The newspaper AL-Jazirah, one of the three largest media in Saudi Arabia, reported this event on August 6th in a article which gave good comments on Haier color TVs market potential. The report said large companies from Europe, North America and Japan had dominated the local market before China's Haier broke in the market several years ago. Haier's success lies in its high-tech quality products and attractive designs, which has posed a challenge to the existing dominance in the market.
