Haier "Meigaomei" TVs Became National Gifts During her recent visits to Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia and Romania at the invitation of the governments of these countries, State Councilor Wu Yi presented the presidents of the five countries with one Haier "Meigaomei" color TV each, which was extensively reported by news media. The presidents were very impressed by the rapid growth of Haier over the past 16 years and gave good comments on Meigaomei TV for its representing an advanced technology level in digitization, high definition, information, chromatology and acoustics, as well as family decoration. They said that Maigaomei TVs represented not only a technological achievement by Haier; as gifts, they represented the kindness of the Chinese people, as well. These five Meigaomei color TVs were elaborately selected among dozens of domestic TV brands. It was the second time Meigaomei TVs were chosen as national gifts. The first time was in October 2000 when the visiting president of Zambia received Meigaomei TVs as gifts.
